MEN'S RUGBY

The Gee-Gees men's rugby club was founded in 2002 and played its first game in the fall of that year. The team is a certified registered club with the Student Federation of the University of Ottawa (SFUO) and is a member of Rugby Ontario.

The Gee-Gees men's rugby club was established to build a program of competitive rugby at the University and to bring more acceptance of the game to the Ottawa area. The men's rugby club will attract students nationally and internationally to study and play rugby at the University of Ottawa.

In 2003 and 2004, the club played in the Eastern Ontario Rugby Union fall league and reached the Plate finals in both season. In 2005, the club made a commitment to only play matches against their peer rivals. Today, the men's rugby club plays in the University Competitive Club League (UCCL) which currently includes Ottawa U., Queen's and McGill. The league competes for the “Al Charron Cup”. The club has an annual match with RMC and plays exhibition matches with some American universities. We usually compete in end-of-season tournaments involving varsity level teams.

We invite players with good rugby experience and solid athletic ability to visit our team's website or to contact us: Stuartrobinson2010@hotmail.com
